Giving life back to uncultivated land, preserving a heritage that symbolizes the excellence of Made in Italy: the truffle. Wealth, biodiversity and long-term sustainability: these are Truffleland’s goals. The precious and fascinating world of truffles is endangered by factors such as abandonment of the maintenance of the woods and deforestation of suitable areas. The loss of the genetic biodiversity of the truffle would then continue to a cultural flattening and would entail a loss of popular traditions, customs and traditions. The Truffleland project was born from the passion and entrepreneurial audacity of the Urbani Tartufi company which has taken on the responsibility of increasing the Italian production of truffles through the development of a complete system to offer anyone a turnkey business and offer concrete professional opportunities. . Truffleland starts from a large nursery, located in Scheggino (PG) in Valnerina, which produces mycorrhized plants for the cultivation of truffles with a revolutionary methodology. New truffle plants that are born, in the center of infinite natural truffle fields that have been there for centuries and that need new strength. Then planted outside, for five years they sit quietly to absorb all the nourishment, patiently waiting for the earth to ripen. Truffleland blends the new techniques of precision agriculture and smart farms and the tractional ones of a centenary profession: in fact, microchips are inserted in the Truffleland plantations that help to monitor every phase of the production process and which will be useful in the future to study why some plants produce more truffles and others less. Truffleland is also about to give life to a training company that will be included in the regional list of educational farms, where training, updating and education activities will be organized.
